February is Children’s Dental Health Month! Stay tuned this month to see more great information geared towards helping your child establish a health smile for life!

Tooth decay is the MOST COMMON childhood disease (yes, cavities are a disease! ) and it is completely PREVENTABLE! Children miss many hours of school for appointments to fill teeth and address other oral health issues, not to mention the time the parent has to take off of work to get them there and the added expenses of travel, deductibles & out-of-pocket costs, even with insurance.

Some of the BEST ways to prevent decay and other serious oral health issues are simple. Start by assisting your child in brushing (or supervise) 2x daily, floss 1x day & get them in the habit of using a fluoridated mouth rinse before bed. Getting routine cleanings & exams by a dental professional is also imperative, as they can help prevent disease, catch decay in very early stages, & assist in setting goals for your child’s overall health.
